Koi on Silver 24 x 24This painting measures 24 x 24 with a 2. 25 inch silver leafed edge. I begin with graphite drawing on the wood surface, adding multiple layers of oil paint, washes, glazes, and metal leaf. Each of my paintings has about 30 layers. "Koi on Silver" is part of a long time series of Koi paintings I have done. They are an imaginative interpretation capturing the movement and interaction of a Koi Pond.

These paintings are inspired by Joseph’s own Koi Pond at his studio and garden in Greenville
